Look Who it Is!

For any of you who have been following my blog from the beginning, you know Kado was a big part of it for quite some time, pretty much up through 2010.

For our newer followers, here's a quick run down: At one time, Kado, Spuds, and Shadow all lived together, as Chad and his sister lived in the same house.

But one day Kado got to move out and start a new journey with his family. We let you guys know about it here: http://poochesforpeace.blogspot.com/2010/11/our-november-so-far.html

and in that post we said we'd keep you updated on him......I haven't done a very good job of that.

We saw our ol' orange buddy yesterday! He wants you to see his daily life. Ahem:

We all got together for dinner and had so much fun visiting everyone. I looked at Chad and said, "We have to get some pics of Kado for the blog!"

Stupid Vick

I know everyone has already been talking about this, but....Michael Vick wants a dog?! SERIOUSLY?! Can he just shut up already? I'm usually all about forgiving, but the more information that comes out about how horrible he was to his dogs makes me have no interest in anything he has to say... and I don't think he ever deserves to have another dog. I brought out a past blog post photo for this one. Here's how we feel about him:

Our November So Far

We've had an interesting November so far...

-First bit of news: Kado moved out! Well, I should say, Kado's mommy and daddy moved out. So, while we definitely miss our orange buddy, we are happy for them to start a new journey. But no worries, we'll be sure to bring our camera with us anytime we see Kado :)

So, the TV that was in the living room was Kado's mommy and daddy's TV. I hung a Merry Christmas sign where the TV used to be for now, haha! Spuds took advantage of this new sign to express his feelings about Thanksgiving:

Mommm, dadddddd....now that Thanksgiving is over, can't Christmas be here already?



Chad is a custom sign fabricator, so (he usually makes signs much bigger and more complicated that the Merry Christmas one) if you want your own sign like this let me know in a comment with your email address and I'll give you details! I can also post some more pictures of the actual sign by itself to get a better idea of what it looks like. We plan on hanging on the door with garland around it :)

-Next bit of news in November....my birthday was last week, and Chad and I's 9 year anniversary!

-Our Thanksgiving: I didn't get many pics... we spent the day with family of course, and brought table scraps back for the pooches! I spent most of the day playing with the C-mas sign so I will have more pics of the dogs with it. We were thankful for having a stress free day with lots of love.

- I went shopping on Black Friday! My step mom and I spent a lot of time at the specialty dog store- I got Spuds and Shadow some Christmas dress up stuff specially for dogs! It's going to be a fun picture-taking December. I also bought a vegan dessert cookbook today! I can't wait to try out the recipes...I'll let you know how it goes.

I have been trying to read all your blogs, just haven't had as much time to post my own- this month has been a bit of an adjustment with the changes in the house and getting through the birthday, anniversary, and Thanksgiving all within a couple weeks! busy busy!

I still have a few cute pictures from October I need to download and post from my cell phone!!! Another cell phone series post to come soon.....

What? I can be a cow if I want to! Geeze... guess I'll uhhh...impersonate Dad's expression. We're tough. Duh.
(Noo those aren't 'party cups,' just the cups Mama uses at Sunday dinner to avoid more dishes!)



Hmm...then There's Kado. I tried to get him to report on what was going on in the recent "Wordless Wednesday" pic of him.

No. Comment. I'm busy getting slobber all over the winders.

Meanwhile, Shadow is depressed, because pretty soon there won't be any more days like this:

She seems to like the snow the most out of all three of the dogs though, so I think she'll be ok!

Smorgasbord

Why yes, I really did use that as my title, but this post is truly a bunch of different stuff! We've been busy little bees lately.

Big kisses! I have missed being in the spotlight...er...I mean, all the readers soo much!

He wanted to make sure I put that pic up for everone...don't mind him, he's a little full of himself sometimes :) But Shadow knows just how to bring him back down to earth:

Kado: I can do whatever I waaannntt!!

Shadow: Alright, that's it. I didn't want to embarrass you, but...TACKLE TIME!!!!

After being tackled by the smallest dog in the house and completely falling off the couch....

Oh. My. Gosh. Can we pretend this never happened? Please don't tell anyone?!

But she's not always tough. She actually had the hiccups the other day, so Kado's mommy said "BOO!" really loud and made Shadow jump, then her hiccups actually went away! Ha!

Aww geeze! Why'd you have to tell everybody I got skeered? I was lookin' all tuff after tacklin Kado. Blog Lady is sure having fun embarrassing us all toonite!

I said I'd try to take a "fall in Ohio" pic, so here's what Ohio looks like right now. The trees are getting more and more bare, so soon it will be a greyish blue world :(

Halloween went well too! Spuds didn't want you to see this...he was dressed as a black cat that actually ended up looking more like a playboy bunny. I think I heard Spuds telling Kado he was the next Hugh Hefner. Hmm...

And our pumpkins were pretty saggy by the end of October. We were planning on carving more but never found the time.

In other news, I'm trying to write a novel, just kind of as a hobby I guess, and I recently reached the 20,000 word mark! Well on my way, and I'm pretty excited about it!

And my brother got to open for an old 70's-80's rock band called The Godz last week. My brother likes to play more acoustic guitar stuff, so I thought I'd share a video of him playing one of his originals from last week. If you click on this link it will take you to the Youtube video!

Spuds Feels Loving

I guess I should tell everyone that Spuds isn't always the most loving dog in the world! Shocking, I know :) Actually he just doesn't usually treat Kado like his best friend. He saves that for Shadow. See Below.

This is Spuds cuddling with Shadow, his tails draped over her, hehehe. He absolutely loves her, always wants to play with her. He can't get enough of Shadooby!



Like I said, this isn't usually the case between him and Kado, but the other night, Spuds decided to lay with him instead! WHOA!



So Chad grabbed my cell phone and snapped some pictures :) Yay.

Another Update and Thank you

First, I want to send out many thanks again to everyone who has sent thoughts and prayers our way. It really makes a difference :) It is comforting to know that similar situations have happened to some of you, and I hope all of your cases turned out ok! Some of the stories left in the comments were very heartwarming and uplifting.
And I wouldn't have received as many thoughts/stories/wishes without Life With Dogs !!! They gave Pooches For Peace the Gold Hyrant Award and sent over their readers to wish Shadow well. If anyone reading this hasn't checked out this humor-filled and fun blog, do it now! LOL OOOOOOHhhhh, look at it's shinyness:

To those of you who said your dogs had a re-spay or that part of the ovary wasn't taken out, did they just go back in and basically search until they found the tissue, or...how did that situation go?

And now for another update on Shadow..

She seems to be doing better so far although the bizarre false pregnancy behavior is still there. She also is whining a lot when we let her out of her cage- I think it's just a mix of her hormones/energy built up because she can't do anything/ confusion going on, because she only does it when we first let her out of her cage. We have strict orders from the vet to keep her in her cage as much as possible, so I'm sure she's bored. She goes back next Saturday to get her staples out so they should be able to tell us if everything looks like it's healing ok. She's been eating good...that is, if she doesn't have her e collar (cone head collar) on... She's not a fan of the collar at all. Here are a few pics of her with the flamingo before I was instructed to keep it from her. Part of me wonders if she's also whining because she can't find it.

I didn't get any picture of her "coddling" it, but she kept putting it up against her belly and under her chin and cuddling it between her leg and chin. It was so cute and sad at the same time.

(And yes, I stole Spud's blue collar from him for now.. hehehe)

Oh...and Kado wanted to say hi. Don't mind that drop of water between his eyes...he had just come up for air from the toilet...

So...I keep forgetting to bring my camera places. Darnit! This means when Spuds and Kado went swimming I had to use my cell phone to take pictures. Sorry! Spuds is 5 now so he's been swimming for a while. Kado on the other hand, the 1 year old, wasn't so sure what to do.
