A smiling face to greet you at the end of the day,
even if they have to stay in their cage while you're away.
They don't mind being your personal pillow, as long as they get to enjoy the couch from time to time,
and if you're lucky, they may even stop to smell the flowers with you.
They're content to ponder the meaning of life with you...
or at least pretend to,
do the same when you have something to say,
or just roll around and shoot the you-know-what for a while.
And who could forget the priceless slobbery smile to brighten up your worst days, and make your best ones better.
